Dear colleagues,

It is with a profound sense of honor and privilege that I step forward to serve as the chairman of the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (KCPCA). As I assume this significant role, I would like to express my most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to all members and the dedicated executives for placing your trust and confidence in me. The remarkable growth, outstanding reputation, and numerous scientific achievements of our association over the past decades have been possible only through the continuous dedication, perseverance, and hard work of every single member. I am deeply grateful for your invaluable contributions and look forward to your continued and unwavering support.

Since its establishment in 1993, the KCPCA has consistently played a central and influential role in advancing craniofacial science and surgical excellence in Korea and internationally. Our official publication, the Archives of Craniofacial Surgery, has not only maintained but further strengthened its international visibility and impact factor, serving as an essential platform for cutting-edge research. In addition, our comprehensive educational initiatives—which include highly effective cadaver-based training programs, meticulously organized symposia, and robust academic exchanges—have substantially expanded the depth, scope, and practical application of craniofacial education for practitioners across all career stages. The recent publication of authoritative textbooks on facial trauma and complex craniofacial surgery further underscores our association’s sustained commitment to the highest academic standards and clinical excellence.

As we commence this new term, it is evident that we are operating in a rapidly evolving medical and academic environment characterized by technological innovation and shifting paradigms. To respond effectively to the challenges and opportunities of this changing landscape, our administration will center its efforts on several key strategic pillars. These include reinforcing evidence-based academic foundations through rigorous research; strengthening structured training systems and mentorship opportunities for our talented young surgeons; and expanding meaningful global collaborations with leading international organizations. Through these coordinated efforts, we aim not only to elevate clinical standards and research capacity within our specialized field but also to foster an inclusive and dynamic environment in which all members can grow and succeed professionally.

The true and enduring strength of the KCPCA lies in the collective expertise, passion, and diverse perspectives of its members. We remain committed to promoting open and transparent communication and to proactively creating ample opportunities for meaningful engagement across all facets of the association’s activities. Such efforts are essential to ensure that the diverse expertise and valuable insights of our community fully enrich our academic endeavors and guide our future development. I sincerely hope and firmly believe that our association will continue to serve as the most essential professional and academic home for all its members.
